Public comment focused on water supply and farm-water outreach. Michelle Paul, the California Farm Water Coalition’s new executive director, introduced herself, thanked the district for its support, and described the coalition’s media, social-media and youth-education work. Directors suggested educational programs for her to explore.
The board recessed ahead of a scheduled labor-negotiations closed session. All five directors were present. After public comment, the board announced a recess at 9:17 a.m. before the closed session listed for negotiations involving Operating Engineers Union Local No. 3. The agenda named the General Manager as the district’s negotiator.
