Land Fallowing Program Approved for 2026 — Up to $2 Million, $400/Acre The Board approved expanding the 2026 Land Fallowing Program budget from ~$1.3 million last year to up to $2 million, maintaining the $400 per acre payment rate. Last year saw 30 landowners and ~3,300 acres participate; the goal this year is 5,000 acres. Participants must be in good standing with the GSA and have a minimum of 4 acres. Enrollment invitations are expected to go out by late August with Board approval targeted for September before the program begins.
