Groundwater Use Fees Set for FY 2026-2027 (Current Reporting Period Nov 1, 2025–Oct 31, 2026) — Category 3 Rate More Than Doubles The board adopted Resolution 2026-04 setting groundwater use fees for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The fee structure remains tiered by consumptive use: Category 0 (0–0.5 acre-feet/acre) has no charge; Category 1 (0.5–1.1 af/acre) is $57.81/acre-foot (up ~$5 from last year); Category 2 (1.1–1.6 af/acre) stays at $138.61/acre-foot; and Category 3 (above 1.6 af/acre) is set at $316.94/acre-foot. The 1.6 af/acre reduction target holds through next year but will tighten to 1.4 af/acre starting in reporting period 2028.
