Domestic Well Mitigation Program Rules Approved The committee approved a resolution adopting rules for the Domestic Well Mitigation Program, which will provide up to $35,000 in financial assistance per property for drilling replacement wells or connecting to community water systems. The program applies to landowners within the Madera County GSA boundaries whose domestic wells have gone dry or been damaged by subsidence due to groundwater decline since 2020. Staff conducted extensive outreach with community groups, water districts, and local organizations to develop the application process, which will be available both online and in paper form starting in 2026.
