Multiple Canal Shutdowns and Routing Constraints Continue Through Fall Several FID canals are offline or going offline for construction projects, including the Enterprise Canal (FEMA Creek project), the Houghton Canal (Hughes Avenue Bridge replacement), the Big Sandy (Quarter Basin project), the Central Canal (Fox Clover project), and a section of the Marion Drain. Staff discussed how closures affect system routing capacity, including for stormwater. Staff indicated some key constraints (including a flood-control project area affecting routing) should be resolved by late October, improving routing flexibility ahead of storm season.
