The district received an initial 100% Class 1 Friant allocation and 15% on the Cross Valley contract. However, snowpack is well below normal (57–76% of normal snow water equivalent), meaning most precipitation came as rain and has already run off. Staff indicated the most likely scenario is a block of water needing to move in April/May, followed by a revised (lower) Class 1 allocation and a summer run of roughly 5–6 weeks, potentially starting around mid-July — shorter than last year's 8-week run. Growers should plan irrigation schedules accordingly and watch for updates at the April meeting, when water rates and run timing will be discussed.
