1. Public Comment Letters on the GSP Will Be Reviewed, But No Immediate Response Planned Four comment letters were submitted during DWR's 75-day public comment period on the Delta-Mendota Subbasin GSP, from Friant Water Authority, California Sportfishing Protection Alliance, the State Water Project, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Topics ranged from subsidence and canal infrastructure protections to interconnected surface water and groundwater-dependent ecosystems. Rather than immediately drafting formal responses, the board directed staff to consult with DWR first—staff noted there was a call with DWR later that day—to gauge whether a detailed review would be helpful to DWR's process. EKI will prepare a scope and cost estimate for reviewing and prioritizing the comments, to be considered at the October meeting.
