1. GSA Met 2025 Demand Reduction Target with 143,000 Acre-Feet Consumptive Groundwater Use
The preliminary data shows the East Turlock GSA is on track to meet its demand reduction goal for water year 2025, with calculated consumptive groundwater use of approximately 143,000 acre-feet compared to the target of 154,000 acre-feet. This success was driven by over 10,000 acres of fallowing (both self-reported and detected through data analysis), nearly 25,000 acres of cover cropping providing 3,600 acre-feet of additional effective precipitation credit, and 26,000 acre-feet of consumed surface water (including 8,000 acre-feet from GSP projects like MID transfer water and TID replenishment water). Account statements and true-up invoices will be issued in early February following final quality control checks.
