1. Coyote Creek Flood Protection Project Moves Forward with Eminent Domain Resolution The board held a public hearing and adopted a Resolution of Necessity to acquire property interests from the Valdez family (APN 467-13-007) for the Coyote Creek Flood Protection Project. This nine-mile project stretching from Montague Expressway to Tully Road is designed to protect properties from flooding at the level experienced in February 2017 (a 20-year flood event). Phase 1 construction is complete, and the Phase 2 construction contract was awarded last month. The project requires land rights from 62 property owners total, and the design places flood walls along rear fence lines to minimize private property impacts.
