Basin storage is near the low reached in the 2024 water year The Elrod monitoring well showed a depth to water of 107.04 feet, corresponding to approximately 79% of basin capacity, or 63,200 acre-feet in storage. Jordan Kear described the level as roughly as low as the 2024 water-year minimum. Flow into the basin at Senior Canyon was a trickle, while measured surface-water outflows totaled about 2.57 cubic feet per second. NOAA seasonal outlooks favored above-average precipitation for October–December 2026 and December 2026–February 2027. Kear also described a strong El Niño pattern; wetter conditions could bring significant recharge if they materialize.
