The Board held a public hearing and voted to approve penalty invoices for three landowners in Management Area 2 (MA-2) who exceeded the 3 acre-feet-per-acre ET allowance during the 2025 growing season. The penalty is set at $500 per acre-foot of overage, which the Board affirmed is justified both by the cost of purchasing replacement water and by the need to deter excess pumping. General Manager Chris Lawrence noted that staff discussed working with growers after invoices are sent and bringing any proposed agreement back to the Board, but the Board's action at this meeting was approval to send the invoices.
