The Board Adopted the First Periodic Evaluation and 2026 Amended Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) The board adopted both documents after a public hearing at which no public comments were offered. The amended GSP addresses four corrective actions recommended by the Department of Water Resources (DWR) when it approved the original plan. Changes include land subsidence thresholds based on measured displacement rather than groundwater-level proxies, a refined sustainable yield of approximately 39,700 acre-feet per year—roughly one acre-foot per acre per year over the irrigated area—and the removal of interconnected surface water as a relevant sustainability indicator. The documents are due to DWR by January 2027 and remain subject to its review.
