The board voted to set a May 21, 2026 public hearing to adopt a new fee structure that will change how growers are charged. Under the new structure, agricultural parcels will only pay on cropped and managed wetland acreage — not entire parcel acreage — which should lower bills for many ag users. However, the per-acre fee itself is changing: there will be a flat Part 1 fee of $20.50 per parcel (paid by everyone) plus a Part 2 fee based on irrigated acres. Parcels receiving Feather River surface water via South Feather Water and Power Agency pay 85% of the standard ag rate. A public webinar on the fee study is scheduled for March 24 — details are on the GSA website.
