1. Northern subsidence could reach the GSA’s threshold around 2029. At the subsequent GSA board meeting, staff projected that the northernmost monitoring station could reach the 2-foot subsidence threshold around 2029. Its projected rate is 0.23 feet per year, and the trend has not flattened. The Gravelly Ford and bifurcation-structure stations are projected to reach that threshold around 2035 and 2034, respectively. Board members discussed whether future pumping-policy changes, including pumping zones, might be needed. No new pumping limits or zones were adopted.
2. The district is exploring flood-recharge preparations. Staff is working with Rain for Rent on a temporary pipeline proposal intended to move roughly 50 cubic feet per second from the new turnout to the district’s reservoir. The proposed HDPE pipe is about 24 inches in diameter. Options include stockpiling pipe and pre-fusing sections to shorten deployment if flood releases occur. The proposal needs further work and will return to the board; no installation date was set. Staff also plans to follow up with a fuel supplier, drawing on lessons from earlier recharge operations.
