1. Wildfire Resilience Efforts Are Underway to Protect Agency Infrastructure The Agency is actively pursuing a Sierra Nevada Conservancy Wildfire Resiliency Grant to fund vegetation management (mastication) and facility hardening around its water infrastructure. Staff reported that metal roofs and metal siding are replacing combustible materials at pump stations and other facilities. However, many Agency facilities sit on very small parcels surrounded by private land, limiting the defensible space the Agency can create on its own — making collaboration with Cal Fire, Amador Fire Protection District, and private landowners essential. Wildfire damage to these facilities could interrupt water service for extended periods.
