1. GSP Supported for Return to DWR Oversight
On December 2nd, the State Water Resources Control Board staff presented and the Board unanimously supported returning oversight of the Kaweah Subbasin GSPs from probationary status under the State Board back to the Department of Water Resources (DWR). This is a significant achievement resulting from collaborative efforts across all three GSAs in the Kaweah Subbasin. DWR has up to two years to conduct a full review of the plan (staff expects closer to 18 months), and Greater Kaweah staff is working to schedule an initial meeting with DWR in early January to walk through the plan and its sustainable management criteria.
