Water Supply Looking Strong for 2025-26: The district is currently at a 55% CVP allocation with approximately 210,000 acre-feet of remaining supply. Northern California reservoirs are performing well above forecasts—Shasta is at 57% capacity and trending above both 90% and 50% exceedance forecasts. Recent storms brought the 8-station precipitation index to 188% of average for this time of year, providing an excellent start to the water year. Under current conditions, the district expects to fully maximize the 119,900 acre-feet of rescheduling water available.
Water Rates Reduced Due to Higher Allocation: The Board approved revised 2025-26 water rates retroactive to March 1st, reflecting the increase from the originally projected 20% allocation to the current 55% allocation. The typical agricultural water rate was reduced by approximately $12.95 per acre foot due to both the higher allocation and mid-year budget reductions totaling $5.7 million in O&M costs.
