Recharge Water Allocated at $135/Acre-Foot with Tiered Quantities The board approved an allocation of recharge water from the district's Basin Safe Account, which holds approximately 26,603 acre-feet accumulated from 2023–2025 recharge activities. Parcels of five acres and above receive one acre-foot per acre at $135/AF (an average of the $126 and $145 per acre-foot costs when the water was originally recharged). Parcels below five acres are eligible for up to three acre-feet per acre at the same price, recognizing that smaller-acreage landowners — particularly those between two and five acres — tend to use more water relative to their parcel size and have had fewer opportunities to purchase supplemental water. The allocation window runs through October 31, 2026. After that date, unclaimed water could be recycled and reallocated, though the board did not decide that process today.
