1. Russian River Watershed Resilience Plan Nearing Completion Sonoma Water presented on the Russian River Watershed Resilience Pilot Project, a state-funded initiative that will be completed by April 2026. The plan integrates groundwater management with broader watershed planning and is expected by DWR to be an important mechanism for securing future climate resilience funding, including from Proposition 4. The plan incorporates climate vulnerability assessments for groundwater, surface water, and agricultural sectors, with adaptation strategies currently being developed. Agricultural groundwater users can still provide input through the watershed network tool available on the project website.
