1. Water Supply Outlook Remains Challenging Despite Recent Storms The District is currently at about average precipitation for the date, having received 19.4 inches versus a historic Sept–Feb total of 25 inches, due to strong early storms followed by three very dry weeks. However, snowpack sits at only 57% of normal, and forecast models show significant uncertainty with projections ranging from 1-4 inches over the next 16 days. This creates operational challenges as warmer temperatures are expected to cause earlier runoff, potentially requiring the District to make flood control releases even though they may not be able to fill Don Pedro Reservoir to capacity later in the season.
