1. Subsidence is accelerating and now roughly a quarter of Lower Tule's management zones have exceeded 50% of their allowable subsidence limit. Since the last quarterly update, two additional Subsidence Management Zones (SMZs) crossed the 50% of allowable subsidence (MT) mark, with several more at 48–49%. High-resolution GPS data from one site shows an additional 0.15 feet of subsidence in just the two months between April and June 2026. Critically, staff flagged that subsidence continued during January–April (winter/wet season), which they said was notable.
