The Board Selected Portfolio 3A as Its Preferred Portfolio Under the Integrated Implementation Strategy Portfolio 3A includes a smaller version of the Brackish Groundwater Restoration Project, Castroville and Eastside canal alternatives with eastside recharge, and CSIP optimization. Staff also identified rural-residential water-use efficiency and described Deep Aquifers protection as an urgent priority across the portfolios. For growers, the portfolio includes a preliminary, modeled 10% agricultural demand reduction across four northern subbasins. Staff said the figure could change as projects are refined. The GSA hopes to pursue incentives before considering mandatory or allocation-based measures, if needed. No affected users, locations, implementation baseline or individual limits have been determined.
