MAGSA has initiated a Proposition 218 election seeking landowner approval for a $32.85/acre special benefit assessment to fund the McMullin On-Farm Flood Capture Expansion Project (~$22 million in construction, operations, maintenance, and reserves). This assessment would be in addition to the $19/acre amount already being paid, bringing the combined total to roughly $51.85/acre. Ballots will be mailed by April 17, and the public hearing to tabulate and announce results is June 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM. The assessment, if approved, would appear on your Fresno County tax roll starting fall 2026. Two educational events are scheduled: a webinar on April 28 at 12 PM and an in-person event at the Kerman Community Center on April 30 at 11:30 AM (the in-person event will offer Spanish and Punjabi interpretation).
