1. Allocation reduction accelerates in 2026: Allocations in the Madera County GSA - Madera Subbasin will drop from 27.1 inches to 25.2 inches in 2026 - a decrease of 1.9 inches. This larger drop is due to the transition from a 2% annual reduction (2020-2025) to a 6% annual reduction phase (2026-2040) as was planned in the GSP. The allocation chart for all 3 subbasins to 2040 will be made available for planning purposes, as requested by growers. The numbers can change in the future due to factors like irrigated acreage change or infrastructure project success.
