1. GSAs Will Be Asked to Compile and Share Well Registration Data by November 30 — Template Coming in July EKI will send all GSAs a well registration template in the coming weeks requesting well location, depth, screen intervals, and aquifer assignment for registered/known wells (as available). GSAs must fill out and return this data by November 30, 2026. This information is critical for calibrating the subbasin groundwater model and for compliance with both the GSP and Pumping Reduction Plan (PRP). Committee members raised significant concerns about farmer pushback, noting that growers often view well-specific data as proprietary and fear it could be used to restrict pumping. Staff clarified that formal reporting will be aggregated at the GSA level — not reported well-by-well publicly — and that crop/parcel information will be optional. However, if a PRP exceedance occurs in your area, more localized pumping data may be required for investigation.
